Education Copilot: AI Lesson Planner

Image
I never cease to be amazed by what AI can do. It always takes me from one surprise to another. Especially when I learned about Education Copilot, the AI lesson planner. Let's see what Copilot can do. First of all, Education Copilot can align lesson plans with specific curriculum standards or learning objectives, ensuring that educators meet the requirements of their educational institution or jurisdiction. Knowledge Constructor — the most important standard in ISTE Standards

Image
In my personal opinion, I think the Knowledge Constructor standard is the most important standard for students, especially in the 21st century.      ISTE’s Knowledge Constructor standard requires students to understand and contextualize information online. This is important since the Internet has started an age of hyper-information, where it’s all but impossible to keep up with world events using traditional methods. There’s also a shocking amount of misinformation (intentional or accidental) in the world that makes its way online every day. As a result, students need to know what reliable information looks like and where they can find it. Besides, students need to learn critical thinking and apply it to 21st-century technology.  Once students have critical thinking skills, I believe they will be capable of lifelong self-study.

One of the most surprising yet touching things when I arrived in Chico, CA

When I went out with my host family on January 27, 2024, one of the things that surprised me the most was learning about the Camp Fire, which is the largest fire in California history. They showed me the remains of their former home, which was destroyed in that terrible fire. Everything is quite fierce. That was very touching to me. The good news is that people are beginning to reconstruct their lives, but I believe those who are still with us will always remember the victims who lost their lives and the courage of those who came to their aid.
